Mother’s Kisses Strengthen the Immune System of Their Babies

A research group led by Dr. Tagg discovered that when a mother kisses her baby she transmits certain bacteria that help build stronger immunity against such diseases as colds and ear inflammations.

Mother’s hugs also promote quicker recovery. These health benefits were discovered in a study carried out at the Bliss hospital for prematurely born children in Montreal. The study involved 61 babies. Scientists measured heartbeat rate, blood oxygen level and observed facial expression of babies when they draw blood from them. The results showed that babies held in their mothers’ arms recovered from pain quicker. These babies were fully relieved from pain three minutes after the procedure while unattended babies suffered longer.

  1. Mothers are no doubt a blessing from God. We should cherish our mothers for they are an irreplaceable figure in our lives.
