Women Smell Out Compatible Partners

A series of studies conducted by American scientists revealed that women tend to smell out compatible mates. Moreover, females are able use their sense of smell to recognize genes. This is possible through HLA genetic group that is inherited from father so mothers and daughters have different preferences.

49 young and unmarried women were tested by asking them to smell T-shirts worn by men for two consecutive days. The men were previously examined genetically. Moreover, the men were asked to avoid smoking, drinking alcohol, having sex as well as using perfume or soap for the two days of study. All T-shirts were washed with a special scentless washing powder before use.
Tests showed women preferred men with slight genetic differences. The sense of smell rejected similar or too varied genes.

By the way, aromatherapy experts advise avoiding the use of strong “sexy smells” in order not to mislead the partner. There are lots of ways to sniff out your ideal man. Below are the basic ones:
  1. The partners need to avoid using perfume for several days and wash themselves with just warm water.
  2. Clothes should be washed using scentless washing powder or that with a mild smell.
  3. You need to avoid strong smells like that of tobacco as you do your little test.
  4. You have to refrain from the pill as it can substantially interfere with your scent perception.
  5. Smoking, alcohol, spicy or strongly flavored food are also under ban.
  6. You need to differentiate the smells into “sexy” and “inviting and attractive” categories as you sniff out. The second category means higher genetic compatibility.
  7. If a man’s clothes emit harsh smells that may indicate some health problems while sweet odor may mean diabetes or schizophrenia. By the way, these two disease are genetic.
It’s important to make sure your test is easy and fun otherwise it could offend your partner and make him feel like a lab rabbit.
